Spring is just around the corner, so it’s time to get your wardrobe in shape for spring with the best basics for the warm weather. Goodbye to heavy sweaters and big coats!

This week, we’ve got the details on one of the best basics to have in your spring-summer wardrobe: shorts.

You may have been wearing shorts all winter long with leggings or tights and boots. And now you can keep wearing them in a new style perfect for spring.

There are tons of styles to choose from: super short, a little longer, jeans, colored…there’s definitely a pair out there for you that’ll be comfy and stylish. The trick is just to try on lots of different pairs.

If it’s not quite warm enough where you live to go totally bare-legged with your shorts, layer them with a thin pair of tights until the sun comes out.

What shoes go well with shorts? Just about everything!Ballet flats and sneakers are good because you won’t be too cold, and you’ll be comfy. Sandals look great too, but are a pain on rainy days and uncomfortable if it’s too cold. So if it’s chilly or rainy, you can wear a cool pair of bootswith your shorts.

A tip: you don’t have to rush out and buy shorts if you don’t have any. If you have a pair of old jeans that are too-worn out or you just don’t wear anymore, you can reinvent them as shorts! You just need some scissors, a careful touch, and a little patience so you don’t destroy them.
